He was on the stage of doubting, He don't know whats the right decision to risk or sacrifice his ambition or his image would be ruin specifically with Mooney's family. That time the doubt that Mr. Doran feel was change after he talk to Mrs. Mooney. As I can say that he would accept the consequences of having a family and speak with Polly rather than to walk away and leaving his problem that can ruin everything, specially his reputation and for the sake of love to Polly.
Mr. Doran feel now about becoming a part or member of the Mooney's family is such an honor, That he is a genuine and true man, That inspite of everything he has something that he can be proud of. He choose the right decision, Regrets is part of life but if you have the integrity it was all worth it. Its the time of a new beginning or chapter of his life of having a great happy family.
Never waste time that God given to you, Be careful in all your decision in life. Think twice even a hundred times, because your future depends and matters all about your decision in the past.
